Description: Description of complaint: i have lived at this residence for 2 years and have had 3 instances of broken pipes in my apartment where my carpets have gotten soaked with water and they come clean the carpets and then there is a horrible mold smell. on sunday 11/30/14 at 5:30 am i woke up to step in water in my carpet that spread from the master bedroom down the hallway into my kids room and both bathrooms. when i stepped on the carpet the water came over my feet. i called the maintenance and they said a pipe burst under our building around 4:00 am and they turned the water off and would come and try to fix the pipes and clean the water from my carpet. the carpet cleaner came around 10:00 am they took the water out of carpet and have had blowers running all day. i am 6/12 months pregnant and my 3 kids all have asthma so i stayed out of the apartment until about 9:00 pm and when i came home, my apartment had a horrible mildew smell. i was unable to sleep all night due to the smell and my kids all woke up coughing and congested and again no water in the building by this morning. also, when they were working on the pipes they hit the pipe to the toilet in the main bathroom and there is a smell of sewage. i feel this is unlivable at this point. i called the office and the manager told me that the water should be turned on by today or tomorrow and that they will come fix the toilet tomorrow and also come and "deodorize" the carpets. i really feel that the carpets need to be replaced. as i am sure the mildew has set in by now. i have a 1 year old infant that is crawling and i don't feel that this is safe environment for him or any of my kids or myself to be in. please let me know what my rights are (if i have any) and i would really like someone to come out and test the mold content in the apartment if that is possible. i need to know if this is safe for my kids and the smell is so strong that i really don't see how it could be safe.
