Description: Email: [email protected] subject: recent "incidents" in magdalene groves message: good afternoon victor and ken, i hope you both are well. i am appealing to both of you on behalf of our neighborhood. we had 7 cars broken into on sunday evening and an "avoided" altercation last night. i know that rick redding of the hoa has left a messasge as well. we have a certain home in the neighborhood which is currently renting to about 9 people. there is a deputy who lives directly behind me who had told me that he no longer brings his car home as he fears it would be a "target". apparently, a released murderer had also moved into the home. i had just been avoiding the street and area - especially after dark but yesterdays' confrontation was quite scary. when a car, driven by an hispanic female was speeding down the street, a neighbor held out/up a hand to indicate to slow down. the car stopped and the woman, accompanied by 3 african american males yelled did he think he was the police? the neighbor replied that he was merely asking her to slow down as he was playing with his children. i know the young man - he plays ball just about every evening out front with his boys. they drove off but returned on foot. 2 of the males had "clubs" and the woman proceeded to start a "scuffle" - not only yelling but pushing the neighbor twice. he kept saying that he would night fight a woman. the event ended when another neighbor heard the commotion, stepped outside and called the police. at this point, the neighbor is afraid to file a complaint. quite honestly, after hearing of the deputy's reluctance to bring his car home, i cannot blame him at all. from what i understand, the rental home has been recently sold and the new owner is trying to rid himself of the current tenants and this may be the reason for the upset. i was hoping that you may be able to assist in getting patrol cars to cruise the neighborhood for a while. the neighbors are very upset and they are frightened. i think the extra patrol will help to allay their fears. thank you in advance for your consideration and assitance. ps hope to see you at caba soon! noreen
