Description: Description of complaint: the duplex has been infested with bedbugs since atleast april of 2013. this is the month that my son and i started itching, and i even took him to the doctor for severe itching on 5/24/13 and they confirmed it to be insect bites. in august of 2013, i found a nest of them in my furniture. afer my landlord refused to pay for extermination, i paid an exterminator $585 to kill the bugs. however, since it is a duplex, they just went in between the walls of my neighbors unit and mine. they eventually made their way to both units. the infestation is not as bad as it was at that time, as we have both been fighing them with home remedies and store bought insecticides. my neighbor has not been able to confirm that her unit has bed bugs, however she has recently had to receive emergency care on two occassions for allergic skin reactions. a recent biopsy from her detmatologist returned positive for insect bites, although they were not able to confirm the type of insect. i still have them, continue to see dead ones as a result of the spray - but they are regenerating still. i have stains on my furniture from this as well. i had to get rid of the couches i had because the infestation was too bad. i am not able to pay for extermination again, and especially not on both units. the landlord expects the rent on time, but we have had to live with the bugs for almost 1 year, which has caused stress, anxiety, depression and financial hardships. please help us get the issue taken care of. supporting file or photo: sandy crespo extermination inspection.pdf
