Description: Over the last three years, seven hang tags have been left at the property, requesting the owner cut the grass in the front and side yards. typically, the grass would be cut within 7 days of leaving the tag. 8/8/12, another hang tag was left at the property for high grass. 9/10/12, having no contact with the owner, and the grass not being cut, a notice of violation was sent to the homeowner, doris born, with a deadline of september 18 for compliance. 10/12/12, during a re-inspection of the property, i spoke to a neighbor regarding the property. i was told that doris born no longer lived at the house, and that the house was occupied by james born. i left another hang tag at the property, and asked the neighbor to call me if he spoke to james. 11/1/12, i received an e-mail complaint from another neighbor regarding this property. the e-mail indicated that doris born had passed away three years ago, and that her son james lived on and off in the house. at that time, i posted a new notice of violation at the house, in the name of james born. after posting the notice, i found mail scattered on the hood of the car parked in the carport. amongst the mail was my notice of violation addressed to doris born, unopened. upon my return to the office, i mailed a copy of the most recent notice of violation to the property, addressed to james born. a deadline of november 6 was set for compliance. 11/6/12, with no contact from mr. born, and the property still out of compliance, a summons to appear was posted at the house. the notice of violation had been removed. this morning, i re-inspected the house and found that the grass had not been cut, and the summons to appear had been removed from the door where it was posted on november 6.

Description: 1/2/13, in response to a complaint from the alpharetta police department, i inspected 1100 haney drive along with two members of the police department. i found two inoperable vehicles, an unlawful structure built on the property, and an enormous amount of junk, construction debris, automobile tires, and other items strewn about the property. i returned to the property the next day, 1/3/13, to post a notice of violation on the front door of the house, with a deadline of 1/31/13 for clean-up and compliance. 2/12/13, after getting no response from the property owner, i re-inspected the property along with several members of the alpharetta police department. i found no substantial change to the condition of the property. a summons was posted on the front door of the house. 3/28/13, this morning, i re-inspected the property and found no overall change in the condition of the property. the original inoperable vehicles were gone, but others were present. part of the roof of the unlawful structure was gone, but another unlawful structure appears to have been started at the side of the house. please note that the county shows the property address as 1100 haney drive, while the city shows the address as 11830 haney drive. both the notice of violation and the summons were posted on the front door of the house. 4/10/13, at the request of the board, i met with the property owner at the property. we discussed what items needed to be removed from the property: autombile tires, old paint cans, rusted propaned tanks, untreated lumber, and any other item that would deteriorate if left open to the elements. we discussed removal of a section of the unlawful structure, to bring the square footage of the structure to one hundered square feet or less. we also discussed the removal of all rubbish and other items that had little or no value. 4/23/13, i re-inspected the property in advance of today's meeting. i took the following photos showing the front of the house, and showing all the items which we agreed had to be removed from the property. photo #1: automobile tires. photo #2: rubbish photo #3: unlawful structure photo #4: paint cans photo #5: carpeting photo #6: untreated scrap lumber photo #7: rubbish photo #8: appliances for recycling photo #9: rusted propane tanks photos #10 & 11: various and sundry junk in my opinion, the property has been "neatened up", but very little, if any, of the items which i had indicated had to be removed actually had been removed from the property.

Description: 5/9/14, in response to a complaint, i visited the property at 325 karen drive, in the alpha park subdivision. i found grass in the front yard exceeding twelve inches in height, debris and rubbish in the rear yard, an unlocked side door and a wide open sliding glass rear door. a brief check of the interior indicated that the occupants had moved out, leaving a large amount of rubbish and some personal property behind. the fulton county tax assessor's web site indicated the owner was ronald and barbara newsome, with the mailing address matching the property address. because of the severity of the problem, i sent a notice of violation to the property address, in case the mail was being forwarded, and also posted a copy of the notice at the property. the date for bringing the property into compliance was may 16. 5/16/14, i reinspected the property and found no changes. i issued a summons to appear, mailed a copy to the property address, and posted a copy of the summons at the property. at the time the property was posted, a neighbor informed me that the house had been occupied by a tenant, not the owner, and that the owner resided somewhere in alpharetta. an internet search revealed an address of 1509 cumberland court, along with a telephone number. a message was left at the number, asking for a return telephone call. 5/19/14, i spoke to barbara newsome. she told me that her husband had passed away earlier this year, and had not visited the property in some time. after receiving my message of the sixteenth, she had hired a contractor to remove the exterior debris, cut the grass, and repair the rear sliding glass door which was unable to be locked. she also told me that she was unable to attend the hearing because of her work schedule.
