Description: Description of complaint: for the third time in as many months, my apartment has been flooded after a rain storm. the carpet in my living room nearest the east window becomes soaked. the water appears to be coming from the base of the wall beneath the window and not from the window or any other source. my wife has contacted the leasing office and was advised that it was due to flooding. although water has come through the sliding glass door in the past, there have been a couple instances where water has obviously seeped through the wall or foundation of my apartment causing my carpet to be soaked - each time i am forced to relocate furniture and electronic equipment along this wall. we previously requested the complex to deal with the issue of rain water flooding our back porch area as frequently our dining room would flood - to date, nothing has been done and there has been no response to any of our requests. although no conclusive tests have been conducted, i would believe that mold and mildew has already begun to materialize after three instances of the carpet becoming soaked for hours prior to being dried. i am requesting either a long term fix for this issue or to be relocated to another apartment unit. my most recent notification to our complex was on july 11 advising them again of the issue of flooding. please reply to my issue. thank you. submitter's contact preference: i wish to be contacted about this complaint. rob mcdaniels 813.391.4827 email address: [email protected]
