Description: The following is the information a citizen submitted using the online form on the hillsborough county code enforcement complaint form. description of complaint = item #1 - yard consistently over grown. item #2 - pool is a safety hazard is black with algae. this neighbor at 10507 lets the yard overgrow, owner purchased 3/09 and has only mowed the yard 3 times in that year. house appears abandoned, i rarely see any lights on inside and once in a great while there are some trash cans waiting at the end of the drive. biggest concern is the condition of the pool being a safety hazard as it is only 2/3rds full and black with algae, the exposed walls above the drained water line are also black. this is a health hazard and can create mosquito larvae. my personal concern is that i believe this neighbor has used my water, from my side of the house spigot, to fill his pool on one occasion and again attempted last week to use my water again. several months ago i noticed his pool was partially drained, and several days later my hose on that side of the house was unfurled and layed out between my side yard to his side yard i never use this spigot i immediately looked through the fence and his pool was full. i removed the hose and put a lock on the spigot. my water bill then came in at twice the normal amount and i felt that he indeed helped himself to my water to complete the filling of his pool. i spoke with the water department to determine any specific day of useage and they only track water useage by the month. last thursday 4/15/2010 i went out the side garage door and emptied the household trash which is on the same side of the house as the spigot mentioned above, a half hour later while doing laundry in my garage i heard water running...i went out the door where i emptied the trash and the ground is soaking wet and the spigot was turned on full force and water was streaming out of the lock, which was still on the spigot. i assumed it was my neighbor again at house #10507. i went to my backyard and peered through the fence to his pool, and as i described the present condition above, i am under the impression that he was attempting to use my water again. please advise. thank you street number = 10507 street name = out island drive apt./lot number = zip code = 33615 nearest major intersection = longboat blvd and hillsborough avenue what road does the location run off of? = longboat blvd. name of subdivision, apartment complex, or mobile home park = the cove owner name (if known) = ryan fitzgerald address (if known) = , apt. or lot number = complainant name = laura lang phone = 813-841-0756 email me a confirmation copy of this complaint = yes submitter's email address = [email protected]
