Description: 06/03/10: received a call from a concerned citizen with children regarding a pool constructed with no permit and open to general public/neighborhood children. her child for example she stated has special needs and she has had to pull him out of the pool on more than one occasion. she states she has asked the neighbor to secure the pool but they have not taken any action. i asked how big this pool is and if it holds or can hold 24 inches or over of water. answered yes. informed her that i will look into the matter and take whatever action is possibly needed. checked data base for signs of a pool permit fee based or not. none found. conducted a field assessment. there is indeed a pool above ground constructed without any required barrier. the pool is of frame construction thus will be a fee based permit needing to meet additional pool requirements. attempted to make contact with current resident. no one at home. i have issued a nov this day for no pool pemrit. all questions or other go through building code officer thank you.
