Description: This is an expansion job of permit bldrpr-2015-06997 for parcel 071009306153single story home with basement. cinder block foundation. both window projects are to be done on truss bearing walls (soffit ends).interior wall door replacement: open up interior wall between living room and bedroom to create more open space. wall presently has french door opening 60" wide. opening wall to 106". install sistered header 2" x 12" spf #2 or better. vertical load from one end of header will run down to the foundation. other end of header will be supported by two sistered 2" x 4" studs which have, directly below them in the basement an already existing 4" x 4" stud which supports first floor joists.living room: open wall, remove existing 33" x 54" window and then reinstall same window with a second window of same make and size which will be removed from bedroom wall. so this will be an install of two 33" x 54" windows side by side. total opening in living room wall to accommodate new window arrangement will be approximately 82" across and run from wall top plate to bottom plate. install sistered 2" x 10" x 82" spf #2 or better header across span with 2" x 4" cripples, king and jack studs to support header (for idea of design, see drawings which are included in permit 06997 file). 1" x 8" horizontal lap sheathing is the horizontal structural support for the house. atop of that are 1" x 6" cedar siding boards.bedroom: open wall, remove existing 33" x 54" window which will then be installed into the living room as per above "living room" project. open wall to accommodate 79" x 63" bow window. total wall opening will be approximately 82" across to accommodate structural build out and window and run from wall top plate to bottom plate. install sistered 2" x 10" x 82" spf #2 or better header across span with 2" x 4" cripples, king and jack studs to support header. 1" x 8" horizontal lap sheathing is the horizontal structural support for the house. atop of that are 1" x 6" cedar siding boards. any removed sheathing is to be replaced with 3/4" plywood. bow window has two cables which run up through window casement from bottom window plate where they are secured and project out through top window plate. these cables will be attached to either header or top wall plate. the bottom sill of the window opening will also have a reinforced build out to also help support window.we will build temporary walls inside to support roof trusses before wall studs are removed.i am assisting in this work with two friends i have known for years who are both self employed construction contractors. jeff lardy, owner of dog hollow construction in monona and judy coster, independent construction contractor are my contractors leading these projects.
