Description: Interior renovation to existing warehouse space at mammoth to create special event space for events, only two of which will be held in december, and no others. additional permits required for any additional activity in this building. a mixed use of mercantile and assembly with supporting accessory uses is allowed under this permit. additional permits for supporting trades (suppression fire alarm, hvac, electric, plumbing, etc) shall be obtained as required. the following conditions shall apply to this permit for these two special event only and are not applicable to any other use and no other use is authorized under this permit. additional conditions the need for which arise during inspection may be imposed on the certificate of occupancy issued pursuant to this permit. 1. the details of the approved drawing shall be followed in constructing the partitions dividing the occupied space from the unoccupied spaces. 2. the spaces labeled as unoccupied and identified as such during inspection shall not be occupied during any special event authorized under this permit. 3. lighted exit signs and egress lighting complying with chapter 10 of the kbc shall be provided on all the first floor areas. 4. all spaces on the first floor shall be broom clean and empty except for the occupied spaces as shown on the plan. 5. no storage of any type shall be allowed in the unoccupied spaces on the first floor during these events and during the interim period between the two events authorized hereby. 6. the entire unoccupied space on the first floor shall be maintained broom clean and empty to the satisfaction of the chief building inspector and the fire prevention bureau during the period of the events. 7. the door leading to the 13th street exit stair shall be labeled "emergency exit only". a warning sign indicating a "step down" shall be installed on the door. 8. the door to the stair leading to the other levels shall be locked from the outside, and shall open from the egress side in accordance with section 1008, kbc. no persons shall be allowed entry to the upper floors during the events authorized pursuant to this permit. 9. doors leading into the unoccupied spaces shall be locked from the non-egress side, doors shall open from the egress side in accordance with section 1008, kbc. no persons shall be allowed entry to the areas labeled unoccupied on the approved drawing during the events authorized pursuant to this permit. 10. a completed test certificate from a licensed fire sprinkler contractor documenting the readiness of the suppression system, including central station monitoring shall be provided prior to a certificate of occupancy for any occupancy under this permit. 11. adequate fire alarm notification devices, connected to the existing alarm/sprinkler monitoring system shall be provided and operable during the events. 12. all walking surfaces shall comply with the provisions of the kbc. changes in elevation and tripping hazards shall be beveled, ramped or provided with stairs in accordance with the provisions of chapter 10 of the kbc. 13. minimum egress for one half the calculated occupant load shall be maintained at the main entrance as shown on the approved drawing. doors shall comply with chapter 10 of the kbc. 14. all required means of egress exit doors shall have panic hardware or no hardware and shall swing in the direction of egress. 15. the identified area of structural defect at the northeast corner of the main structure shall be repaired to the satisfaction of the building inspector, or documentation from a kentucky licensed engineer attesting to the structural integrity adequate for the occupancy under this permit shall be provided. this provision shall apply to any additional areas of apparent structural defect discovered during inspection. 16. no heating or cooling equipment shall be utilized unless installed pursuant to a permit issued by the department of codes and regulations. 17. existing extension cords previously utilized in unauthorized occupancy on the upper floors shall be removed. 18. no unauthorized extension cords shall be utilized and all cords shall be protected in accordance with the national electrical code. 19. any fabric, membrane or other combustible wall hangings other than artwork displayed for sale shall be with a fire protection compound to the satisfaction of the fire marshal prior to and during occupancy. 20. any fence, gate or other hindrance to egress from the building shall be locked open or removed to the satisfaction of the building inspector and the fire marshal. 21. fire watches with qualifications as determined by the fire marshal may be required. except as provided by this permit no use other than storage is allowed in any part of this building at any time without further permits.
