( tehachapi ) dispatch requested a call out to fire at a s.f.r. located in tehachapi. fire started in dryer in attached garage, spreading to and around water heater area to include water heater. fire burned wall ( sheetrock ) and portions of ceiling, but no damage to structural members other than heat and smoke. due to heat, the circuit to garage was damaged, the gas line near water heater, and the water supply to water heater suffered heat damage. the electrical circuit could not be located so power was turned off, and the soldering at joints in water supply were damaged and water service was turned off, the gas line suffered heat damage and gas service was secured. signage was posted. pictures were taken, and spoke to owners regarding permits. ** this residence is also located in the city of tehachapi, but no contact number was able to be reached as far as city building inspection. this was not discovered until inspector mcdonald had arrived. city building contacted the on call inspector and then went to scene.
