Description: 85 northern avenue is a new address created within an existing parcel that previously was assigned an address of 25 northern avenue (parcel id 0602640020). 25 northern avenue has for many years maintained a use of premises permit for surface parking; a renewal of the use of premises permit is pending (app. #49110791). in connection with the filing of a building permit application for the construction of the boston innovation center within the 25 northern avenue parcel isd assigned the innovation center portion of the parcel an address of 75 northern avenue. the owner of the 25 northern avenue parcel seeks the assignment of the address 85 northern for the portion of the parcel east of 75 northern avenue because the construction of the innovation center on 75 northern avenue eliminates the vehicular access route to the parking spaces on the east side of the innovation center. please see the attached plan. a new curb cut to service the 85 northern parking spaces will be installed on northern avenue and new electrical service is being supplied by nstar to the 85 northern address. please note: the parking spaces contained within the new 85 northern address are previously existing parking spaces. the current btd permit for the 25 northern avenue parcel allows 922 vehicles to park on the parcel. with the construction of the innovation center (address of 75 northern avenue) approximately 67 parking spaces are being removed from service although they may be restored to service in the future when the innovation center is replaced with another use. per isd request we are filing use of premises permit applications for both the 85 northern avenue address and the 25 northern avenue address to amend the number of parking spaces allocated to each of those two addresses. the 85 northern avenue address can hold 219 vehicles and the 25 northern avenue address can hold 636 vehicles. this use of premises permit application is asking that 219 of the existing approved parking spaces permitted by btd for the 25 northern avenue parcel be allocated to the 85 northern avenue address. 636 parking spaces will remain with the 25 northern avenue address.
