Description: Description of complaint: for the past several months i have submitted complaints to my apartment complex regarding rats in my apartment. the complex mamangment did send an exterminator to assist with the problem, but nothing was resolved. i have personally killed and removed 11 rats from my residence. as of today there is evidence of more rats being in my apartment (fecal matter, stench of urine in the kitchen, holes in the wall) and evidence that the rats have been attempting to get into the plastic container which we store out dog food in my chew makes on the lid. furthermore, myself and my partner have been starting to feel ill while we are in the house (abdominal pain, trouble breathing, dizzyness). i believe that the complex has done nothing further to correct the situation once we stopped complaining about the issue. i am very concerned for the safety and health of my family and pets. please feel free to contact me at the above telephone number as soon as you can. thank you. nearest major intersection: fletcher av. and: bottoe dr. what road does the location run off?: dottie dr. name of subdivision / complex: wildwood acres apartments complainant name: robert colby dickson phone: (813) 784-3141 email me a confirmation copy of this complaint: yes for an email copy of input, please enter email here: [email protected]

Permit type: Kitchen Remodeling

Description: Description of complaint: i had a leak in the ceiling which did not get looked at closely until i had mold in 8 sides of the wall and the carpet would get soaked right in front of the a/c. the maintenance guys just came with a big fan several times. next my son and i could see the wall changing colors and the colors (yellowish & brown) in the walls grow. there was such a awful smell that came from my son's room that when i walked by it, it would take my breathe away. it was so awful my 15 year old son could not sleep in his room! thank god i was in usf taking be bac (microbiology 4000) at the time. i would go to every class and record the class, then come home and study for hours. it was so bad in the apartment that i could not recall anything that i just studied. i took my first test and failed bad, the worst grade i think i ever got. the next class i talked to the teacher and he put it together for me. he told me that it is mold and told me where to get a mold test kit. i got two kits and tested the air and my son's room. i let them grow out for 5 days and sent them to pro lab. i took pictures to show my teacher because i could not believe it. he looked at the pictures and told me to pack all my stuff and move; run now! because i'm on hud section 8 i couldn't. the repair guys came and wiped down the wall with stuff and spray painted over it, every time it would grow back. i still have two different result sheets of what was growing. i had black mold and secondary black mold with five to seven other types of mold/fungi. i took the pro lab result straight up to the office with my allergy list showing i'm already allergic to these molds and took my micro books to show them what it eats and if it is a sexually spore and what that meant. the owner was there and said he would take care of it right away. i think within 1 week they had a carpet cleaning company out to cut open all the walls and let all the sexual spores free all over my stuff and almost killed me. all because the owner, manager, and the carpet cleaning company would not listen about how they needed to isolate the area so the spores would not go in our clothes, beds, computer desk, $1500 sofa, entertainment unit, almost all my 15 year old sons stuff (he got a bag of clothes back), my $3000 bed, bedding, my clothes, and some other personal items i had since i was a little girl. i told them to either take all of my stuff out and move it to another apartment or put up the thick plastic walls like they do in a hospital. they all said okay they would but since my son and i were allergic we had to leave for eight hours. i walked up to the owners face and told him, " you are f'ing up"! i had to push though everyone to get a copy of the paper they made me sign with the carpet cleaners. the owner said if i did not sign and let them clean this up i will lose my hud. that is the only reason i signed. my son and i took off all day. we came back 8 hours later scared to see what they did. they didn't move my stuff out, nor cover anything, nor use the thick plastic walls to make sure the sexual spores did not get on all my stuff like it did! these fools put a blower at the end of the hall and blew all the mold into my son's room, kitchen, living room, and dinning room! my son went in first to see if it was safe for me and he smelled mold and told me to get out. i did not smell it so i thought it was fine. my son told me to put my epi pen in my pocket (that is what saved my life!) and i went looking around shocked, and took as many pictures as i could. i couldn't believe after 8 hours we had no walls! my son took off to play and my neighbor wanted to talk, thank god! i showed her the pictures of no walls and we were talking when all of a sudden i did not feel right. i pulled myself upstairs to get my purse, and folder with all the mold & allergy information. i came back down the stairs and went to sit on the 3rd or 4th stair, and my neighbor asked if i was okay? i told her i do not feel right and in the middle of sitting down, i passed out and went into anaphylactic shock. my neighbor got my other neighbors to pick me up and lay me on her sofa. her son went to get mine. when they dropped me on the sofa, i woke up for a minute and pulled the epi pen out of my pocket and gave to my neighbor to inject me, so she did. i was sent to the er via paramedic where my son, and my poa took over, i believe. my son and i had to find a hotel after being let go from the er. i tried to go back home but every time i opened the door i went back into shock. my son and i stayed with my friend in pinellas county and then stayed with my grandma. my son and i shared a mattress on the living room floor. i had many hud inspections that failed and had my son and my cousins have to move all items that were 100% wood or hard plastic or machine washable with a special mold killer. now i go into shock when ever i am in mold or around people who live in mold. i was never like this before this apartment! i also was almost done with my bs as med tech, so i could get off all the state help and go back to work! i have to say in closing that my son and i were homeless and people had to give us close and my son couldn't get his school stuff for months because for this. i need to know if they even had a permit, because we never saw one, and how old are those buildings? if they were built in the 1970's they could have lead paint, which mixed with the black mold makes it toxic. then they should have had professionally people with hasmad suites to isolate the apartment and clean it correctly. nearest major intersection: bears and: 30th what road does the location run off?: fowler name of subdivision / complex: cedar trace complainant name: tammy l durkin phone: 727-484-0417 email me a confirmation copy of this complaint: yes for an email copy of input, please enter email here: [email protected]
