Description: Max occupancy 10 persons big bear lakefront cabins short term rental 10/29/13: application received. sg 11/07/13: processed application, project notices sent to surrounding property owners. sg 12/06/13: information given to p. kleinsmith for inspection. sg str inspection 12/09/2013 i conduct the str inspection from the right of way and on property exterior and interior of residence with consent from long term tenants. debris in photographs is from moving company boxes and material being taken from truck to residence. interior inspection: smoke detectors: only one smoke detector mounted on ceiling second floor outside of bedroom. no smoke detectors or co2 sensors throught the residence. fire extinguishers required each floor and no furhter than 75 ft. of travel distance. no other hazardous conditions identifed. exterior inspection: no trash cans with locking lids visible and no ash can exterior or interior of residence visible. property owner attempt contact; 12/09/2013 property owner contact information phone number not updated, and is answered by a statefarm insurance company, who advised she will email property owner my request for contact regarding str application and violations identified. case number and phone contact information provided. pk k0811 12/09/13: smoke detectors needed in every room and carbon monixcide detector also, if owner calls this week, per p. kleinsmith, no refund for short term rental application...kleinsmith stated long term rental now. sg 12/10/13: owner of property called to return p. kleinsmith' call. she was informed about the lack of smoke detectors and carbon monixcide detectors in home. emailed p. kleinsmith to call her back upon her request. sg 12/13/2013 voicemail left for property owner. pk k0811 01/04/2014 no additional contact with property owner inspection: smoke detectors installed / c02 required 01/04/2014 i with consent and escort by the long term tenants, they showed me the smoke detectors they have had installed in the residence, but non to there knowledge and are not marked are c02 sensors that are required. tenants provided property owners phone contact number to advise. property owner phone contact: 626-215-1214 01/04/2014 i made phone contact with mr. wheeler regarding the need of c02 sensors and that the tenants have installed smoke detectors that are in conjuction with the burglary alarm system. non of the smoke sensors are marked as a duel smoke and c02. tenant advised c02 sensors still required each floor. mr. wheeler informed me that he will purchase either plug in c02 sensors or wall/ceiling mount and mail them to the tenants to install. mr. wheeler was informed to have tenants call for reinspection after co2 sensor installation. pk k0811 inspection: co2 dector install 02/01/2014 i conducted inspection of the interior of the residence with consent and escort by the male tenant of the proeprty, where i was shown the installation location of three co2 detectors: 1. outside of bedrrom sleeping area , 2. near kitchen, 3. basement. photographs taken. recommendation: approval no str interior or exterior violations occupancy level when used as str (max occ ten 10) vehicle max five (5) p/o advised he may not continue use of property as str when str renewal due, and may continue with long term tenants only. 02/05/2014: permit approved per i.nunez. drm 02/13/2014: permit and approval letter sent to applicant. drm
