Description: This permit is for the temporary storage of impacted soils excavated from the construction of a parking lot at 2400 traffic st. soil is impacted with pcbs, voc, svoc, and lead. an expected 150 tons of hazardous/contaminated soils will be excavated per plans on figure 2 of the response action plan and construction contingency plan of august 9, 2012. the material will be stockpiled and tested at a minimum of one sample for headspace analysis for every 20 cubic yards of soil. in addition excavation bottoms will also be tested. the excavation will be covered with 6 mill poly as well as the stockpile will be placed on top of the poly and covered, with sides weighted down to prevent dust blowing. once test results are available the material will be sent to either skb environmental landfill in rosemount, mn or eq in mi as directed by braun per criteria listed in the august 9, 2012 response action plan and construction contingency plan. trucks will be backed into the driveway in between the two industrial buildings to be loaded. trucks will be burrito wrapped to ensure material is contained. the excavation will then be backfilled with clean granular. no contaminated or impacted soil will be reused on-site.
