Description: Description of complaint: homeowner at this address drives an older model silver ford pick up truck. for well over a year, this homeowner has parked his truck on the street in front of his house as it has been leaking significant amounts of motor oil. the leak has left an oil field on the street...not just an oil stain or two...it has become a public health, safety and welfare issue. children play in the street and walk in this mess and the oil field is right next to the storm drain that feeds rainwater and sprinkler water back into the reclaimed water system at fishhawk. we have given plent of time to get his truck fit, but this has now exceeded a reasonable amount of time to allow the owner to fix his truck. we live in a beautiful and safe neighborhood, but we feel he is in clear violation of the property maintenance code, section 8-116. i know that service stations that change oil go through great lengths to properly dispose of motor oil due to health and safety considerations. your help is appreciated. sorry that i prefer to remain anonymous on this, but nothing good ever comes out of homeowners confronting other homeowners about situations like this. we are hopeful you can move toward a swift solution to this issue as it is only get worse with each passing day. the oil field size is at least 6 feet in length and a good 2-3 feet in width and it is growing. of course, it is one thing to get this to stop but we also feel he should be responsible for clean up of the street. submitter's contact preference: i wish to remain anonymous.
