Description: Exotic animal 08/22/13: application processed, project notices sent to surrounding property owners. sg 09/13/13: received project notice back that reads, "return to sender." sg 9/20/13 david stern who is the applicant had called me last week inquiring about the processing of his exotic animal permit. during that phone call mr. stern let me know that he is actually running an animal rescue operation on his property. he stated that he rescues small mammals and birds, nurses them back to health and releases them in to the wild again. he went on to explain that he usually has no more than 20 animals on the property (currently he has 19) and that the animals he rescues vary from common birds, owls, racoons and coyotes. he explained that he had received the exotic animal permit application after going to the san bernardino counter but was not given time to explain much about his operation. after researching i called mr. stern back today and let him know that this was not the appropriate application for his type of operation. i explained that the dev code states (84.04.040 (c) (3)) that a limit of 2 exotic animals can be kept as an accesory use to a sfr. if more animals are present the property owner needs to apply for a cup for a menagerie or zoo. i explained that we would close his application and issue a refund of his fees. i gave him plannings phone number so he could call and talk to a duty planner regarding what land use permit he needs for his operation nunez 30. 09/20/13: attachements sent back to applicant per applicant's request. refund request processed and given to i. nunez for approval. sg 10/10/13: called fiscal in sb office and refund will be processed today, called applicant to inform applicant it will be another 2 to 3 weeks for the refund. sg

(property not near the roadside of brentwood). no tree limbs within ten feet of chimney opening an dspark arrester present. no ash can required- fireplace in natural gas only and bbq is lpg. no accumulation of junk or trash, and no accumulation of pine needles on grounds or roof of structure. trash receptacles with animal proof snap lids present. proeprty has a two car garage and driveway parking to support four vehicles. all decking surfaces and support sytems apear in good maintenance. recommendations: approved property residence approx. 4022 sqf / bedroom count of 5 / bed count x2 king, x4 queen, x1 double, occupancy max 10 (r-3 standards) vehicle max 5 12/30/13: received project notice back for neighbor that reads, "return to sender" scanned into office links. sg 01/23/2014: permit, approval letter sent to applicant. drm 01/23/2014: response letters set to neighbors. drm 03/04/14: neighbor called and stated anywhere from 5 to 16 vehicles parked on property at times when renting, usually on weekends. when there are more than 5 vehicles at a time, neighbor stated that renters were allowed before permit was approved, emailed p. kleinsmith information. sg property owner contact: complaint 03/06/2014 i contact property owner regarding the compliant of over excessive vehicles and reminder of occupancy levels and vehicle limitations. owner avadis said that he will contact the last group that rented to in attempts to confirm occupancy and vehicles and if they excced the permitted status. owner avadis said that he will meke note to all future renters that occupancy levels must not exceed ten and vehicles five. pk k0811 r/p call and complaint discussed and advised of property owner phone contact in regards. pk k0811 complaince inspection: 03/08/2014 i conducted a str compliance inspection of the property, which vehicle parked in driveway and garage not exceeding permitted limitation. occupancy of tenants were nine adults and four childreen all approx under three years old. i asked tenants if any other person are arriving at the property, which they informed me only the present group. no violation. pk k0811 r/p call back notification: 03/08/2014 r/p called back and informed of compliance level attime of inspection, but to call with any furhter issues. vrbo.com listing 469769 / occupancy level 10 / vehicle five 03/10/2014 veiwed and property owner had editted the occupancy level to ten, and to include a note stating the county of san bernardino occupancy limits of ten and parking of five vehicles. one review note mention fifteen adults 12/2013. scanned copy of vrbo advertisement case file dated 0310/2014. pk k0811 03/08/2014
