Myke Judd - 2019 Jul 21

If I could give negative stars here, I would. Josh who is the owner of JHT Construction, did a very poor job of constructing our pre-fab barn. We were Tubbs Fire survivors & we had planned to rebuild our home but due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to move as the rental that we leased was sold & we could not possibly rebuild in 5 months. So, we bought a house but had to build a barn. Josh promised to have the barn up & functional in the 5 months we had to re locate my horses. It was, after all, a pre-fab barn. All that had to be done was to follow the directions and put it together. Josh had his workers cut the boards because they didn’t fit. What? All that had to be done was to bend the metal out a bit, slide the boards in & done. No cutting required. Now that the barn is completed, the horses push the boards out constantly & I am having to shove them back into the slots. We have tried screwing the boards in place but because they were cut, they are constantly shifting and leaving huge gaps. During the winter, the barn leaked like a sieve. The tack room had waterfalls running down the walls and the hay storage area leaked just as bad. In fact, several bales of hay got so wet, they molded and with the price of hay at $22.95 a bale, it was quite expensive. Josh promised to come and make all the repairs and replace the hay but after 9 months we have not seen hide nor hair of him. Our handyman is making all the necessary repairs before winter so we are paying double to get things fixed that Josh should have done had the barn been constructed correctly. We contacted the company that made the barn & they had never heard of a contractor cutting the boards to fit. Their only recommendation was to buy new boards which would run about $6500.00+. I won’t even go into how all the insulation is coming down or how the doors don’t close tightly. Josh is not reputable, reliable or dependable and his work ethic is terrible. I would not recommend him to anyone for anything. Save your money and find a contractor with good reviews. I wish we had followed our own advice but we were in a time crunch!
