I took me a long time to write this. But I know my neighbors need work done. This family owned and operated business took my money and did not finish the job. It originally started by the township sent me a letter saying I had to do my sidewalk and driveway entrance along with a couple spots of curbing. Jack walked over because he is my neighbor and offered his services acting like he works for the township and thinking it was great that he lived right behind me it would be great service and quality work. I said great and also the township came out and ran new wire and poured a new spot of the curb next to my driveway so I asked him to do both blocks of walk on each side of driveway for curb appeal and make it even and he said yes. Let’s do it. His original quote was 1000.00 I went in and got him cash. Then he follows up the next day or two when he was getting ready to start and he said township won’t let him do it the way he wanted to so he said it would be another 1000.00 so I said ok and again I went and got him cash. Yes it is my fault I gave cash I get it but I thought how could my neighbor be someone I don’t trust? We talked and he was apologetic and I asked if I could cut the cost down by breaking up the driveway entrance and he said absolutely. So I did with a couple of neighbors. After the driveway was broke up and he removed it and he was getting it ready for inspection he said again the township won’t let him do it the way he wanted and it was going to cost another 1000. But he said pay him later. I said ok. He poured the driveway and did the curbing on hill street where my downspout drains to the street but did not do in front of my house on each side of driveway and did not do in front of Fire hydrant where it was sinking and did not do the slab that was sinking. He said he was going to jack it up and fill it so it was level. Again I had neighbors come over and help finish that because they were inspecting it to pave hill street. He charged me 3000 for it and said he was going to finish the work.
To top it off my wife’s very sick mother was here for the first time ever to see our new to us home. My wife was super excited. Happen to be hurricane season and one was coming. I tried to do everything I could to prepare for this and I was talking to jack about getting a generator in case the power goes out because it does here easily and he said don’t worry about it I could use his. I said really that is great. I even was standing in front of one in north jersey and I called to ask again if it was ok and he said yes use it so he dropped it off to my house so I payed him the last of the money 3000 total cash I was all prepared because my mother in law needed to have her medication in fridge. No power no fridge and my mother in laws meds go bad. Storm came and crap guess what? Power went out. I’m good he let me use his generator. Wrong this clown came over parked in my driveway with his son and demanded the generator and took it out of my garage. I had to spend another 1000.00 trying to get my mother in law home early because we did not have power because there were none in the stores now because they all sold. And guess what? Never finished the work. So do I recommend him?? Lol. Hell no. I would not trust him ever. Everyone knows who I am in the area and he will find out who this is. I don’t care. His work is half ass and he is a shitty neighbor and I guarantee anyone near me won’t use him.
